The Mattituck-Cutchogue School District wants the community to pick the new track color and, so far, the blue track with gold stripes option currently has a commanding lead over the five other choices.
A brick red track with white lines — the most popular choice among high school tracks — is currently in second place with 30 votes.
The district’s poll results showed:
Blue with gold lines: 105 votes
Blue with white lines: 11 votes
Green with gold lines: 1 votes
Green with white lines: 1 votes
Brick red with gold lines: 2 votes
Brick red with white lines: 30 votes

Most school board members have said they hoped the end result will be a blue track with gold stripes, which are the school’s colors.
Voters approved a $925,000 bond in October to replace the defunct cinder track with a new facility suitable for the team to host meets. The track is expected to be completed by the end of August.
